An email from Snapfish arrived a couple of days ago reminding me that I hadn’t ordered anything from them for some time. A quick check on the current deals revealed that 20-page 8 x 11 photobooks were going for $1.99 (plus p&p which brings it up to $10, but it’s still a good price). So, not yet having printed any of my pictures from Sofia I decided to do a Sofia photobook and then decided to make it a Sofia on film photobook.

While Snapfish photobooks are not the greatest quality they are decent enough and I’ve probably bought 7 or 8 of them over the last few years taking advantage of the regular deals. It shipped today and assuming there are a few planes still flying in COVID-19 lockdown world it should be here by the end of the month. Over the next few days I’ll post all the pictures.

I’m thinking about making photo books out of my “keeper” photos, as well as of family shots I’d like to be able to look at in print. It’s yet another project on the tall stack of to-do projects. Anyway. Looking forward to your Sofia series!

It arrived yesterday much to my surprise. With so many places on lockdown the flights are becoming more intermittent and our mail more scarce. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I suspect Snapfish doesn’t print a lot of film or black and white so I wasn’t sure how it would look but it’s not bad at all. Some of the blacks aren’t quite as blacks they should be so there is a bit less contrast than I was looking for but they are quite presentable. This is the twelfth book I’ve done with Snapfish (and Shutterfly which I think is now owned by Snapfish), all of them on special offer. It’s a relatively cheap way to get some reasonably decent larger prints made. My next one will be from our trip to Iceland two years ago which I still haven’t got round to making.
