Looking back over my files from 2011 it seems that as well as visiting Prague I also took a trip to Hong Kong. While I had visited Shanghai a few years earlier this was my first trip to Hong Kong. Here are a few shots from around the city.
We also visited Lantau Island, home to the Po Lin Monastery and the Tian Tan Buddha. The Buddha statue is 85 feet tall and made of bronze. I also tried my hand at a couple of Chinese landscape style photographs from here.
There are also plenty of religious sites in central Hong Kong. Here are the Wong Tai Sin temple and the Chi Lin nunnery.
I also tried a few evening and night shots which turned out quite well after a little work. The first shot was taken from a moving boat at 1/13th of a second and the optical stabilization did a great job in keeping it reasonably sharp. The second shot was taken through the glass window of a great restaurant on, I think, the thirteenth floor. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the restaurant but this was our view for the evening and we also got to see the laser light show across the harbour.
