I don’t know how many bottles of whisky you managed to get into your bag, but you brought home a fine haul of photographs. I really like the pictures of the clouds and sky with a bit of man-made colour on a post box or boat.
Did you use a Fuji film simulation from the camera? Or did you do your own adjustments in software?

Thanks Marcus. I think I managed six bottles in the end. All of these were shot with RAW and standard JPEG and then I tweaked the RAW files in Lightroom. I should probably try some of the Fuji simulations now that I’m back using film again. The shot with the post box I processed a while ago and I thought about redoing it and turning down the redness since I think I overdid it a bit, but in the end I decided to go with punch rather than accuracy.

I want to go to Scotland just to tour the distilleries. A buddy of mine did a walking tour of Scotland, walking from one distillery to another, and it sounded fabulous. I’d drink a LOT more Scotch if it weren’t so crazy expensive here in the US.

I would highly recommend it and Islay is a great place to start since there are eight distilleries and one across the water on Jura all close by. If you ever do decided to do it I can recommend an excellent B&B where the landlord serves Islay malts with your breakfast kippers – very civilized. I’ve actually been drinking a little more recently since alcohol taxes are quite low in Bulgaria and it’s cheaper here than back in the UK or the US.

My wife and I have penciled in a trip to Scotland for mid-late 2021, so I’ll definitely reach out about that B&B when the time comes!
